The boutique family owned Twin Totara vineyard is nestled amongst the vineyards of Waimauku, North West Auckland. Two native Totara trees oversee a gentle north facing slope. Our vines have been tendered by hand by family and friends from planting to harvest. Only the best fruit is selected for delivery to the winery. Our wine is crafted using light handed traditional European techniques allowing the fruit to drive the wine making process. Wines currently available: 2005 Cabernet Franc Merlot Made with 2/3rds Cabernet Franc and 1/3rd Merlot. Deeply red in colour, the wine shows a wonderful bouquet of berry fruits on the nose. Rich and ripe with soft lingering tannins showing complex fruit flavours of dark cherries and brambles with subtle integrated oak. Bronze medal awarded at the 2007 Royal Easter Show. 2007 Rose' Made with 100% Merlot fruit. Fresh and lively with vibrant aromas of summer fruits on the nose. The palate is fresh and lingering with a crisp dry finish. A great summer wine to share with friends over a picnic or with spicy foods. For details concerning availability please contact us.
